East London rocked as a man was run over twice and brutally beaten in a horrifying Tower Hamlets attack

Tower Hamlets has been left reeling after a horrifying act of street violence saw a man deliberately crushed and viciously assaulted in a brutal hit-and-run. The shocking incident unfolded on Eastfield Street on Saturday night, leaving East London residents stunned and terrified.

A harrowing video circulating on social media captured the moment a white car reversed at speed over a helpless man, shattering his leg and trapping him on the ground. The footage shows the car pausing briefly before accelerating forward, driving directly into the injured man a second time and sending him flying through the air.

The horror didn’t end there. In a chilling escalation, the driver jumped out of the vehicle and allegedly stamped repeatedly on the motionless victim as he lay on the pavement. Moments later, three passengers leapt from the car. While one joined the attack, the others fled the scene on foot, leaving the battered man sprawled at the roadside.

Eyewitnesses watched in shock and disbelief as the violence unfolded in front of them. “It was like something out of a nightmare,” one local resident said. “The car hit him once, then reversed and hit him again. Then they just stamped on him like he was nothing.”

Scotland Yard has confirmed that detectives are urgently investigating the savage assault, which they believe is linked to an earlier hit-and-run nearby. Just moments before the Eastfield Street attack, the same vehicle reportedly struck two other people on Morpeth Street, only a short distance away.

The carnage began around 9:15pm, when the white car struck its first victims. One man in his twenties was rushed to hospital with non-life-changing injuries, while the whereabouts of the second victim remain unknown. Fears are growing for their safety as police attempt to locate them.

Paramedics treated a third victim, a man in his forties, at the scene of the Eastfield Street attack before taking him to hospital, where he remains in recovery.

The Metropolitan Police have already arrested one suspect, an 18-year-old man, on suspicion of attempted murder. However, three other suspects remain at large, sparking an intense manhunt across London. Officers are now appealing to the public for information, desperate to track down the remaining attackers before more violence erupts.

Superintendent Tony Bell of the Metropolitan Police condemned the brutality of the incident. “This was a truly shocking and callous attack carried out with complete disregard for human life. We are doing everything possible to locate and apprehend those responsible. We urge anyone with information, no matter how small, to contact us immediately.”

The attack has left Tower Hamlets residents living in fear, questioning the safety of their own streets. Community leaders have described a rising sense of lawlessness in East London, warning that violent crime is spiralling out of control.

“This level of violence is absolutely unacceptable,” said local councillor Amina Khan. “People are frightened. They want to know that they can walk through their neighbourhoods without being mowed down or brutally attacked.”

Detectives are working around the clock, scouring CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses in a race against time to prevent further bloodshed. Police presence in Tower Hamlets has been visibly increased in recent days as the hunt for the remaining suspects intensifies.

The Metropolitan Police continue to urge anyone who may have seen the incident or who has any footage or information to come forward immediately by calling 101 or contacting Crimestoppers anonymously.

As the investigation continues, East London remains on edge, anxiously awaiting justice for the victims of one of the capital’s most shocking attacks in recent memory.
