Pop icon says only faith keeps him grounded as he pleads for peace following beachside clash.
Justin Bieber has publicly acknowledged his ongoing emotional struggles and “anger issues” in an emotional social media post, just hours after being caught on video in yet another tense standoff with paparazzi on a California beach.
The 31-year-old singer — who has grown up under a relentless spotlight since his early teens — poured his heart out on Instagram, writing, “I know I’m broken. I know I have anger issues.”
The candid confession follows footage of the Baby hitmaker confronting photographers who had approached him during what was meant to be a peaceful moment by the ocean. “People keep telling me to heal,” he wrote, “but don’t you think if I could have fixed myself I would have already?”
Bieber added that despite years of self-work, therapy, and public reinvention, the internal pressure to live up to others’ expectations has left him exhausted. “The harder I try to grow, the more focused on myself I am. And it just keeps making me more tired and more angry,” he admitted. “Jesus is the only person who keeps me wanting to make my life about others.”
The singer’s spiritual faith has been a key part of his recovery journey after battling anxiety, depression, and past substance use. But recent incidents suggest his patience with media intrusion may be wearing thin again.
In a video shared by Bieber in April, the pop star begged paparazzi to “back up” during another confrontation, describing their constant presence as suffocating. “This has to stop,” he captioned the clip. In the footage, members of his entourage are heard asking photographers to leave, with one pleading, “Got your shots, go.”
Bieber’s frustrations come amid renewed public scrutiny, which his team blasted in a statement to TMZ. They called concern over his health “exhausting and pitiful” and accused the media of fuelling “salacious, harmful narratives” about the artist.
Behind the scenes, Bieber is reportedly focusing on his family and music. He and wife Hailey Bieber welcomed their first child, a son named Jack, in August 2024. Despite tabloid speculation about marital trouble, a source told People in April that the couple remain solid. “She’s sad about how hard everyone is being on him,” the insider said. “But she’s there for him.”
Bieber, once a YouTube child star turned global pop phenomenon, has had a turbulent ride through fame. Now, as a husband, father, and artist navigating the complexities of adulthood and celebrity, he’s asking for grace — and a little space.
