Nicola Peltz quietly responds to critics blaming her for Brooklyn’s feud with the Beckhams

Nicola Peltz Beckham isn’t letting the internet’s accusations shake her calm. In the middle of mounting speculation that she’s the reason for a rift between Brooklyn Beckham and his family, Nicola’s reply was characteristically quiet—just a ‘like’ on Instagram.

The 29-year-old actress and heiress celebrated her billionaire father Nelson Peltz’s birthday on Monday with a warm post and several photos from the family gathering. Brooklyn Beckham appeared alongside her, sparking renewed criticism over his continued absence from recent Beckham family events, including all four of David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations earlier this year.

In the caption, Nicola gushed: “Happy birthday, dad! I am so lucky to be your daughter… I love you more than I could ever begin to express.” The post came with smiling family shots, none of which included the Beckhams.

Critics quickly descended, accusing Nicola of alienating Brooklyn from his famous family. Comments referenced his skipped appearances at his dad’s lavish London party and Victoria’s Paris Fashion Week show, both of which he attended in earlier years.

But one comment defending Nicola drew attention: “The fact people are in this comment section talking bs about someone controlling a GROWN man is absurd. The guy is an adult and can make his own decisions… stop blaming women for everything.”

Nicola didn’t say a word. She just liked it.

It’s not the first time Nicola has faced accusations of driving a wedge between Brooklyn and his family. Tensions have reportedly been especially high between Brooklyn and his younger brother, Romeo. According to TMZ, part of the rift stems from Romeo’s now ex-girlfriend Kim Turnbull, who allegedly dated Brooklyn briefly as a teen.

Brooklyn and Nicola’s absence from Victoria’s Paris show earlier this year was reportedly linked to Turnbull’s attendance. However, the model later denied ever having had a romantic relationship with Brooklyn. “Nothing between us has occurred further than a school friendship at age 16,” she wrote on Instagram in June, trying to end speculation.

Meanwhile, Nicola has long been at the centre of speculation about friction with her in-laws. It began with her choice to wear Valentino rather than a Victoria Beckham-designed gown at her 2022 wedding—an apparent snub that tabloids pounced on.

She’s denied it all, multiple times.

In an interview with Variety shortly after the wedding, she explained: “I was going to wear Victoria’s design, but then a few months in, she realised her atelier couldn’t do it. So I had to pick another dress.”

In March 2023, she told Cosmopolitan: “I’ve said this so many times: There’s no feud. No one ever wants to write the nice things… when you know the truth and then you read something totally wrong, it’s really weird.”

Despite public attempts to dispel the rumours, the couple’s low attendance at Beckham family events this year has fuelled more headlines. A source told People in May that “there are tensions… They’re just hurt and disappointed that he’s now playing no part in family life.”

Still, the Beckham parents have shown signs of reconciliation. Victoria recently included Brooklyn in a Father’s Day tribute to David, fuelling hopes of a quiet thaw in the icy speculation.

For now, Nicola Peltz Beckham seems content to speak through gestures, not interviews. A birthday celebration, a heartfelt caption, and a liked comment—that was her statement.
