The valley star opens up on his podcast about marriage regrets and why he’s giving up on dating.

Jax Taylor is making headlines once again—this time for baring his soul in a surprisingly candid confession about love, marriage, and why he may never walk down the aisle again.

During the latest episode of his podcast In the Mind of a Man, the 45-year-old reality TV star opened up about his past with striking honesty, admitting he was never cut out for a committed relationship in the first place.

“I think about it now, and I just don’t personally think I am supposed to be in a relationship,” Taylor said plainly. “I just don’t think I’m supposed to be married. You know, I’ve known this my whole life.”

Taylor, best known for his dramatic turns on reality TV including Vanderpump Rules and The Valley, reflected on his relationship with his ex-wife Brittany Cartwright. The pair married in 2019 and announced their separation in early 2024.

“I met Brittany and I thought, okay, maybe things are gonna be different,” he shared. “I love her and I want to be with her, and I — this is what you should do, you know? And deep, deep, deep down inside, I’ve always known that I just… I was never the person to get married.”

The confession struck a nerve with listeners, many of whom have followed Taylor’s rollercoaster love life over the years. Yet it wasn’t just a one-off remark—Taylor doubled down on his feelings during the episode.

When asked if he plans to date again anytime soon, he didn’t hesitate: “As of right now, absolutely not.”

Explaining his reasoning, Taylor emphasised that the issue never lay with his partner.

“The person wasn’t the problem. Like, Brittany wasn’t the problem. I get bored being in relationships,” he said. “I don’t wanna be in a relationship. I just don’t like it.”

In an especially eyebrow-raising moment, Taylor warned listeners about men like him, jokingly—but not entirely unseriously—calling himself a cautionary tale.

“That’s why I’m doing this tour, people, to show you I am the walking red flag,” he said with a laugh. “Don’t go anywhere near a guy like me. And if I can help other girls stay away from men like me, then you know what? I’ve done my job.”

While Taylor’s remarks may come as a surprise to some, fans of his past reality TV exploits are well aware of his colourful romantic history, including multiple cheating scandals, fiery arguments, and abrupt breakups.

Despite the chaos, Taylor has seemingly found some clarity—albeit a bleak one—about his role in relationships and what he wants for the future. Rather than attempt to force something that doesn’t feel authentic, he’s stepping back and encouraging others to do the same.

“I don’t want to lie to myself or anyone else anymore,” he concluded. “This is who I am. I’m not good at relationships. I never was.”

As Taylor continues his podcast and live tour, it seems he’s channelling his personal reflections into public accountability—a rare move in a world where reality TV stars often hide behind drama instead of confronting their own patterns.

For now, the man once known for his tumultuous romances is stepping into a new role: the self-declared red flag with a warning label attached.
