The pop icon postponed her European tour dates after being struck down with laryngitis

Kylie Minogue has been forced to postpone several European dates of her Tension Tour after falling ill with a viral infection. The 57-year-old pop legend announced on Friday that she has contracted laryngitis and needs time to recover before returning to the stage.

Minogue had just wrapped up the UK leg of her tour when her health took a turn. Sharing the news in a heartfelt statement, she told fans: “Hi Lovers, as some of you may know, a week ago we finished the UK leg of The Tension Tour. I made it over the finish line (Yay), but unfortunately have succumbed to a viral infection (Hello laryngitis).”

Despite her best efforts to rest and recover quickly, the Padam Padam singer explained that she simply isn’t well enough to perform. “I’ve tried my best to recover fast to start our next run of shows on Monday but I’m afraid it will take me some days to be well enough to get back on stage and perform my best for you,” she wrote.

The affected dates include shows in Berlin (Germany), Lodz (Poland), Kaunas (Lithuania), and Tallinn (Estonia). The Australian superstar apologised profusely for the postponements. “I’m so, SO sorry! I have no choice but to postpone the shows as scheduled,” she said.

Minogue reassured her loyal fan base that efforts are already underway to reschedule the performances. “Please keep hold of your tickets, we’re doing our very best to reschedule the dates and will update you very soon on that,” she added.

The singer’s message was filled with emotion as she expressed how much she would miss performing for her fans. “Thank you for understanding – you know I love you all. And I LOVE THIS SHOW! And I’ll miss you next week. And I can’t wait to see you. Love Kylie xxx.”

The announcement comes at a time when Minogue is riding high professionally. In 2024, she released Tension II, a follow-up to her 2023 studio album Tension, which soared to the top of the UK albums chart. The album’s success marked Minogue’s 10th number one album in the UK, cementing her status as one of pop’s most enduring and beloved icons.

Throughout her decades-long career, Kylie Minogue has consistently dazzled audiences worldwide with her energetic performances and infectious hits. From her breakout success in the 1980s to her recent chart-topping albums, she remains a dominant force in the music industry.

Fans were quick to rally behind the singer following her announcement, flooding social media with messages of support and well wishes for her recovery. Many expressed understanding and appreciation for Minogue’s openness and her desire to prioritise her health while promising to return as soon as possible.

The Tension Tour has been highly anticipated by fans across Europe, following Minogue’s massive success with her recent releases and her ongoing Las Vegas residency. The postponed shows are expected to be rescheduled once the singer receives medical clearance to resume performing.

While no new dates have been officially announced, Minogue’s team assured fans that updates will follow as soon as arrangements can be made. In the meantime, Minogue is focusing on her recovery, determined to return to the stage and deliver the show her fans have been eagerly awaiting.
