West Yorkshire police say no third party is being sought after two people were found dead in Osmondthorpe
Police have named the two individuals found dead at a flat in Leeds last week as 28-year-old Nnenna Chima from Leeds and 32-year-old Thomas Oko from Bradford. The pair were discovered on the evening of Monday 29 April in a residential property on Dawlish Road in the Osmondthorpe area.
Officers were called to the scene at approximately 18:35 BST after concerns were raised for the welfare of a woman living in the flat. Upon entering the property, police found both Ms Chima and Mr Oko deceased.
West Yorkshire Police have since confirmed that Ms Chima’s death is being treated as suspicious, though they are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the case.
Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Atkinson, who is leading the investigation, stated: “A number of enquiries remain ongoing regarding this incident, but I can reiterate that we do not think a third party was involved in either death.”
The force has not released specific details about the cause of death but said a file is being prepared for the coroner as investigations continue. Forensic teams and crime scene investigators were seen working at the flat in the days following the discovery, with police tape cordoning off the area and officers conducting door-to-door enquiries.

Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could be important.”
Neighbours reported a heavy police presence on the street the night the bodies were found, with several emergency vehicles parked outside the property. Some residents said they had seen the couple together in recent weeks but knew little about them.
“I didn’t know them personally, but it’s horrible,” said one neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous. “You don’t expect something like that to happen on your doorstep.”
Another resident added: “It’s a very quiet street usually. Police have been here a lot since it happened. It’s left everyone a bit shaken.”
West Yorkshire Police are urging anyone who may have information relevant to the case to come forward. Members of the public can contact the force via 101 or through their website, quoting reference 13240233849.
The investigation remains active, with officers continuing to gather evidence, review CCTV footage, and speak to anyone who might help piece together the final days of Ms Chima and Mr Oko.
As the police work to uncover what happened behind closed doors on Dawlish Road, the community waits for answers—and for clarity on how such a tragedy unfolded in their midst.
