A 24 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a fatal stabbing in Mitcham left a 39 year old dead, sending shockwaves through the community
In a shocking turn of events, the usually peaceful neighbourhood of Mitcham has been rocked by a brutal stabbing that claimed the life of a 39-year-old man. The tragic incident unfolded on Monday evening, April 28, 2025, and has left residents in a state of shock and disbelief.
At approximately 7:30 pm, police and emergency services rushed to the scene at Maple Close following reports of a stabbing. The victim, found with severe injuries from multiple stab wounds, was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite the valiant efforts of the medical team, the victim tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Authorities were quick to take action, with the suspect – a 24-year-old man – turning himself in at a local police station. Detective Chief Inspector Foxwell has assured the victim’s family that the police will provide unwavering support throughout the investigation and during this incredibly difficult time. She has also called on anyone who might have information about the crime or witnessed the stabbing to come forward and assist in the investigation.
