Love Island star reveals failed burglary attempt at her home as she defends her ITV presenting role

Olivia Attwood has spoken out after a terrifying attempted robbery at her home, which was quickly foiled by her private security team. The 34-year-old television presenter, known for her breakout on Love Island and her rising career with ITV, issued a direct warning to the perpetrators via social media, saying: “We saw your faces,” and added that what they were looking for “isn’t actually kept at the property.”

Attwood, who is currently on holiday, shared a stark message with her followers against a black backdrop, confirming the break-in attempt had been thwarted within minutes thanks to her private security detail. She praised the team for their swift action, writing: “On sight in 2 minutes with dog team & the incredible NW police force not far behind.” She further revealed that police had collected both footprints and fingerprints from the scene.

She lives in the house with her husband, footballer Bradley Dack. Although the couple are currently away, she didn’t clarify whether the incident occurred while they were already on holiday or shortly before their departure. No additional updates have been given regarding the suspects’ capture or charges.

The incident comes at a tense moment for Attwood, who is facing scrutiny for her recent role as a presenter on ITV’s This Morning. Despite years of media experience through documentaries and as a panellist on Loose Women, her appointment to the summer presenting line-up was met with scepticism by some viewers. Critics claimed they’d “stop watching” due to her Love Island past, though others have welcomed her fresh energy on the show.

In response to the backlash, Attwood said she understands the show’s cultural significance, noting: “I grew up watching the show, and to be a part of it feels like such a huge achievement.” She added that she’s proud of how far she’s come since her reality TV debut and that she’s worked hard to earn opportunities beyond the villa.

“I’m forever grateful to Love Island for being the springboard to my career,” she told The Sun, “but I’m excited to show there’s so much more to me beyond the villa.” She said she hopes viewers give her a fair chance and recognise the professionalism and experience she’s gained in the years since her reality TV fame.

Attwood’s fans have rallied to her defence online, praising both her handling of the break-in and her rise in broadcasting. Some highlighted her recent success on Loose Women and applauded her cool-headed reaction to the attempted robbery, describing her as a “true professional.”

No further statements have been released from her representatives, but police are understood to be following up on the evidence collected at the scene. Olivia’s Instagram post ended with a final remark to the would-be burglars: “What you were looking for isn’t actually kept at the property.”
