The couple lean on small acts and stolen chats to stay close while raising two young children.

Hollywood couple Olivia Munn and John Mulaney are proving that love can thrive even amid nappies, Netflix shoots, and night feeds. The pair, who are parents to a toddler and a baby, have found heartwarming ways to stay emotionally connected — even as they juggle hectic filming schedules and family life.

Speaking at the launch event for People magazine’s new app, Munn, 44, opened up about how she and comedian husband Mulaney navigate the chaos of early parenthood without losing sight of their relationship.

“We’ll steal little moments throughout the day to just talk,” she said with a smile. “Or, a lot of times, it’s in the car. When I’m driving somewhere, he’s driving somewhere, we’ll just get on the phone and talk and catch up like that.”

That sounds simple, but with two children under four and careers in full swing, it takes effort. Munn is currently filming season two of her show Your Friends and Neighbors, while Mulaney is taping his stand-up special Everybody’s Live for Netflix. The result? A relationship that sometimes feels like a high-wire act — albeit one built on deep commitment.

“It’s a little tough right now because we’re both so busy,” Munn admitted. “But I think from this moment forward, we stay together as a family.”

That shared sense of purpose has helped them push through even the most demanding weeks. Munn candidly shared that last month the couple barely saw each other due to conflicting shooting schedules. But even during rare downtime, their attention naturally turns to their children.

“When we both get a free moment,” she said, “we’re being parents. That’s just how it is right now.”

The couple’s parenting journey includes their three-year-old son Malcolm and their seven-month-old daughter Méi June. Munn rarely discusses her family life in public, so the insight into how she and Mulaney handle the pressures of modern parenthood offered a rare glimpse behind the scenes of a famously private couple.

Still, Munn’s reflections painted a picture of resilience and tenderness. Rather than lavish romantic gestures, it’s the small, quiet moments — a phone call in traffic, a check-in between sets, a knowing glance during a diaper change — that keep their bond strong.

Their story is a reminder that love doesn’t always require grand displays. Sometimes, it’s about the stolen conversations between school runs and rehearsals, or finding humour in a chaotic morning. It’s the unsaid support that carries a couple through demanding times.

Munn’s tone was grounded and reflective throughout the chat, suggesting that while fame and fortune might shape their careers, their connection thrives in life’s more ordinary corners.

For fans of the couple, the update comes as a refreshing contrast to the glossy highlight reels often seen on social media. Instead of picture-perfect family portraits, Munn offered a version of love and parenting that’s messy, imperfect — and all the more real for it.

As she put it: “We’re just trying to find our rhythm, and as long as we do that together, that’s what matters.
