Princess André insists she paid for her £10k Audi A1 herself after an Instagram post ignited a safety and privilege row

Princess Andre, the 17-year-old daughter of Katie Price and Peter Andre, has hit back at critics after flaunting her £10,000 first car on Instagram – declaring proudly that she earned the money herself.

Just two weeks after passing her driving test, the teenager shared pictures of herself smiling beside a white Audi A1, showing off her personalised number plate that read simply: “PRINCESS”. The post quickly gained over 50,000 likes and a flood of comments – both congratulatory and concerned.

“I bought my first car,” she captioned the post, tagging the moment as a milestone in her life. But it wasn’t long before social media lit up with debate over how the car was funded, with many assuming her famous parents had footed the bill.

Taking to Instagram once again, Princess clapped back at the criticism. “I earn my own money!” she wrote. “Why is it so hard to believe a 17-year-old can work hard and treat herself?”

Princess, who has modelled and worked with fashion and beauty brands, has built a significant online following in recent years and begun forging her own path in the influencer world. She’s also appeared alongside her mum Katie Price in television appearances and brand partnerships.

Despite the celebratory nature of her post, a number of followers raised alarm over the visibility of her personalised plate. Some argued it made her an easy target for unwanted attention or danger, especially while driving alone.

One concerned follower wrote: “I love this, but why would you show and have that number plate? Target for every a******e and nutter out there!” Another said: “Beautiful car but I’d be a bit scared on my own with your plate in this mad world.”

A third added: “Well done, be careful with that plate, people recognising it will keep following, be safe always.”

The backlash appeared to prompt Princess to respond not only about her financial independence but also about the risks of being in the public eye from such a young age.

“People will always judge no matter what,” she commented. “I just want to enjoy this moment and be proud of what I’ve achieved.”

Princess is no stranger to scrutiny, having grown up in the spotlight thanks to her celebrity parents. Her father Peter Andre, a pop star best known for his ’90s hit Mysterious Girl, and her mother Katie Price, a former glamour model turned TV personality, have both remained in the public eye for over two decades.

Peter Andre has previously said he’s proud of how grounded his daughter is, despite growing up in a showbiz environment. He’s also spoken about encouraging her to learn responsibility and manage her own money.

While neither Peter nor Katie have directly commented on the car post, fans of the family have been quick to defend Princess’s purchase, praising her independence and entrepreneurial spirit.

One fan commented: “You go girl! Beautiful car, you’ve earned it.” Another wrote: “Ignore the haters – you’re a hardworking young woman.”

Whether the Audi is a stepping stone to greater independence or just a flashy Instagram moment, Princess has made one thing clear: she wants credit where it’s due.
