Taylor Swift secures restraining order after man repeatedly visits her home claiming they share a child

Taylor Swift has been granted a temporary restraining order against an alleged stalker who repeatedly visited her Los Angeles home, claiming the two shared a child and were in a relationship. The shocking allegations have reignited concerns for the global pop star’s safety amid a disturbing history of obsessive fans.

According to court filings, 45-year-old Brian Jason Wagner from Colorado began turning up at Swift’s property in July 2024, making multiple uninvited visits that continued until May 2025. During each appearance, Wagner allegedly made delusional claims, insisting that he lived with Swift, that they were romantically involved, and that she was the mother of his child—all entirely false.

Swift, 35, expressed her fear and anxiety over Wagner’s behaviour in a sworn statement to the court. “I am informed that Mr Wagner made various statements about living at my property (not true), being in a relationship with me (not true), believing I am the mother of his son (not true), and needing to see me in person, all of which are untrue and disconnected from reality,” Swift stated.

The situation escalated dangerously during one of Wagner’s visits when he was reportedly carrying a glass bottle, which Swift highlighted in her filing as “something that could have been used as a weapon.” She admitted the incidents left her deeply concerned for her own safety as well as that of her family.

The court has now ordered Wagner to stay at least 100 yards away from Swift, pending a full hearing scheduled for 30 June, where a more permanent restraining order could be granted.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time Swift has faced such frightening encounters. Over the years, a string of stalkers have targeted the singer, leading to multiple arrests and convictions.

In one notorious 2017 case, Mohammed Jaffar was committed to a psychiatric facility after making dozens of phone calls to Swift’s management and attempting to enter her New York City apartment. The following year, Roger Alvarado broke into Swift’s home, used her shower, and even slept in her bed. He was sentenced to nine months in jail, only to be given a longer sentence after reoffending.

Also in 2018, Julius Sandrock was arrested after driving more than 1,000 miles to Swift’s home, with police discovering ammunition, a knife, rope, and gloves in his vehicle. In 2020, another man crashed his car into Swift’s apartment building before trying to break inside. In total, at least six individuals have been convicted of stalking Swift in recent years, underscoring the persistent threats she faces.

Despite the danger, Swift remains resilient and determined to protect her autonomy, not only in her personal life but also in her professional career. Just last week, she announced that she had successfully purchased the master recordings of her first six albums. The historic move comes years after her original label, Big Machine, sold the masters to music manager Scooter Braun in 2019, who then resold them to a private equity firm.

In response, Swift famously launched a massive re-recording project, reclaiming ownership of her work under the banner of “Taylor’s Version,” which resulted in phenomenal sales and fan support.

Announcing her latest victory, Swift said: “All I’ve ever wanted was the opportunity to work hard enough to be able to one day purchase my music outright with no strings attached, no partnership, with full autonomy.”

As Swift continues to fight for both her safety and her creative rights, her fans remain firmly by her side, rallying around the singer with unwavering support amid these harrowing experiences.
