Yung Filly faces two new charges as his sexual assault case heads to trial in Australia next year.
British rapper and YouTube star Yung Filly has been hit with fresh charges as he faces mounting legal troubles in Australia over alleged sexual assaults. The internet personality, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, appeared before Perth District Court on Friday, where prosecutors revealed two additional charges of sexual penetration without consent.
The new allegations add to an already serious list of charges he faces. In March, Barrientos pleaded not guilty to three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, one count of strangulation, and four counts of sexual penetration without consent. No plea has yet been entered for the latest charges.
His case is now set for a 10-day trial beginning on July 20, 2026, where he will face a string of serious accusations linked to an incident that allegedly took place while he was on tour in Australia.
The accusations stem from an alleged assault on a woman in her 20s at his hotel room in Hillarys, a coastal suburb of Perth, following one of his performances in September 2024. The online star, who has millions of followers across various social media platforms, was arrested the following month.
During his initial appearance in Perth Central Court in October 2024, Barrientos was granted bail under strict conditions. The court imposed a personal undertaking of 100,000 Australian dollars (approximately £52,000), supported by an equal surety. His bail conditions were later varied during a brief hearing in October, but he remains free under tight restrictions as the legal process continues.
In a separate matter, court documents revealed that Barrientos pleaded guilty to reckless driving in December 2024. He was clocked speeding at more than 96 mph on Roe Highway near High Wycombe, a Perth suburb, on November 17.
Yung Filly’s legal troubles have cast a shadow over his rising career. The British entertainer built a massive following through his YouTube channel and collaborations with the popular YouTube group Beta Squad. Known for his high-energy personality and comedic sketches, Barrientos quickly became a fixture in British pop culture.
His career highlights include appearances on major UK television programmes. He previously featured on Soccer Aid representing England and competed on The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer on Channel 4. He also co-hosted BBC series Hot Property and the spin-off show Munya And Filly Get Chilly alongside comedian Munya Chawawa, a continuation of Freeze The Fear With Wim Hof.
In 2021, Barrientos won the Best Media Personality award at the MOBO Awards, sharing the accolade with fellow online star Chunkz, real name Amin Mohamed.
Despite his legal woes, Barrientos remains a high-profile figure online, though the ongoing case threatens to severely impact his career and public standing. If convicted, the charges carry the possibility of lengthy prison sentences under Australian law.
Authorities in Perth have not released further details about the two new charges or whether additional evidence has come to light. With the trial still more than a year away, the spotlight will remain firmly fixed on Yung Filly as his legal battle unfolds.
